    The original mandorlato (almond nougat) from 1918

    In 1918 Angelo Cestaro founded the company of the now famous "MANDORLATO CESTARO" in Lonigo (in the province of Vicenza). The recipe for this confectionery specialty dates back to an ancient Venetian tradition of the 1200s. Re-elaborated by skilled pastry chefs, it became a precious and refined product.

    With the same passion from father to son.


    The company was then run by Angelo's son, Leonida, whose name the company retains to these days. Leonida's son Roberto has been running the company since 1961. Since then the Mandorlato of Lonigo is considered an authentic delicacy. Its recipe, the care in processing and the delicate flavor made Mandorlato an instant success, winning awards and acknowledgments also internationally.

    We produce our Mandorlato according to the original recipe and methods, giving up the comforts offered by technical advances. In doing so we keep intact all the qualities that characterize our specialties. In addition to the production of all the classic mandorlato, we also revamped the old simple recipes of the family tradition and redesigned them to meet today's tastes.
